What are BESE-approved CDA/Early Childhood Ancillary Certificate Programs?
Early Childhood Ancillary Certificate Programs are teacher preparation programs that have been approved by the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE) to offer early childhood coursework that leads to a CDA and Early Childhood Ancillary Certificate.
As of July 2019, all lead teachers at Type III childcare centers must obtain CDA coursework from a BESE-approved program.
The Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential™ is based on a core set of competency standards, which guide early care professionals as they work toward becoming qualified teachers of young children.
How long is ETI Program?
ETI’s program is 6 months.

After completing your interest form, an ETI representative will reach out to you via phone to schedule a Zoom interview.
What is the cost for ETI’s program?
ETI candidates gain instructional resources at no cost to them. ETI will purchase the CDA materials needed for every candidate.
What if I do not have a laptop or computer?
ETI will offer laptop/computer loaner bank for candidates to check out for use in the program. Laptops will only be available to candidates who cannot access the online courses regularly without one. All laptops are loaners and must be returned in the same condition as borrowed.
